Future Is Now Schools - Los Angeles provides oversight and operational support of University Prep Charter Schools. University Prep Charter High School is a Blue Ribbon School serving families in the Bronx Borough of New York. Steve Barr co-founded the school with Randi Weingarten, AFT President, in 2007. Steve continues as Chairman of the Board of Future Is Now New York. In 2014, the school was ranked the fourth-best public high school in New York City by the NYC Department of Education. The school has grown into a network currently serving grades 6th through 12th and will begin serving students in K - 5 in Fall 2024.
