ACTION: Bring Online Voting to UTLA

Teachers in Los Angeles want to help their union be more inclusive by using online voting in union elections.

Why Online Voting?
  • Increases turnout. Less than 20% of members voted in the last election for union president.
  • More reliable.
  • More secure.
  • Cheaper than paper.

UTLA teachers Marisa Crabtree and Megan Markevich want to bring online voting to the union, and it has been a long journey (read their story).

But first online voting needs its own vote! Will you help?

Are you a member of UTLA?

If you are, then you can help bring online voting to UTLA.

1. Print the Petition.

Download the petition here. Then print a bunch!

2. Sign it.

Make sure all of your UTLA colleagues sign it too!

3. Tell Megan.

Email Megan at msmarkevich@gmail.com. She will arrange to collect your paper originals at your earliest convenience.

4. Smile.

You’re a teacher taking action!

UTLA teachers Marisa Crabtree and Megan Markevich hold signed petitions in support of online voting.
